Hot vermouth: Curious, isn’t it? The origin of mulled wine dates back to the 2nd century. It was created by the Romans who heated wine to defend themselves from the winter cold. Today, mulled wine is still a Christmas tradition, renewed by Las Vermudas: our new hot vermouth is prepared with a base of sweet vermouth infused with spices and almonds. It is preferably served at 60° to enhance its aromas (and prevent the alcohol from evaporating).
It is an ideal choice to drink on its own, to pair with cheeses (especially blue cheese), as an aperitif or to serve at the end of a meal, with desserts or gingerbread cookies.
